a bit exhausted

Whew! The last days were exhausting... not only because of RL-work on weekends...

On saturday we took a bit off-Gor time. (Pic above is a bit older, me and my boy kissing at our beach) Put my boy in shackles and gag and RLV... and explored some SIMs. You can read about it on his blog.

Sunday after my work we been a bit OOC-dancing at Tabor. It's always good to relax after the long working-weekend. There's not much going on, so I can dance, listen to the music, and be busy in IMs without caring about the open chat.

Returned to Hrimgar then - though we hadn't planned to, but been asked for help. The city was under attack again by panthers. *sigh* Gosh! What's up with those panthers? All they can do is pew-pew. It's so damn unrealistic. It was never heard of, that a panther-tribe would attack a city or village. They might sneak into an open camp at night - that's true. But not dare to attack a whole village.
And in SL-Gor they are just a pain in the ass. Most of them attack without any RP, often cheating too.. because they just can't loose. This time they DID loose although they were cheating (TP out from our harbour, TP in from the neighbor-SIM to attack from behind; then again TP out from our harbour, just to TP in to the farmlands on the other side.... Hm, that reminds me, if we don't have a rule about leaving a battle via TP and the time you have to wait before you can return.). It was all very messy and at the end called invalid anyways and their whole tribe was banned.

Monday was quiet most of the time. Earlier the day Eilly - the leader from the thieves camp - and me met a man at the docks. He looked very suspicious, didn't sheath his bow as he was asked to... finally ran away and we after him, but lost him in ST. However, two slavegirls recognized him and told us he was an assassin.  - Now THAT would be a storyline. If he was really sent for one of us? To figure out, who had hired him for whom. etc. --- But I doubt, that he comes back. Too bad.

Later the day then very quiet. After I sent my boy to warm the furs, I just set on top of the lighthouse, relaxing and enjoying the view.

After a while Endy called me and I visited him so he could show me his garden and his house. Nice garden it is...

I loved that stump. Have to get it for our garden (which I plan in a skybox on our earth-parcel) too. River will love it. Reminds me, tha I soon wanted to get pictures of us, but I never reach the photographer I do have in mind. :-(

Well, after monday was a more quiet and relaxing day, the next day - tuesday - was a mess! I didn't know, where to start first. There was RP about the kurii to do... information I needed to know IC (as most of my readers know now: I do not like OOC information in a storyline. What doesn't happen IC, doesn't happen at all). Then friends wanted to come to visit and look at the village. At the same time the thieves started some shit with the neighbor-lands: Silver Tree. I didn't know what happened and to be honest: I wasn't much interested. When they go around and steal things or slaves, it's their problem. We have a kind of silent agreement, that they won't steal in Hrimgar, and therefore we don't bother them. But they always start some shit and then we are expected to help. That's IC not the best for the reputation of an honorable city/village, so I'm not too happy with those happenings.
Anyways - it was quite a mess. At the same time the thieves were starting a fight with the neighbors, I was trying to lead my guests through the clouds of arrows up to the village, at the same time as a savage was trying to RP and at the same time another friend visited for a trade. Oh, and a baker-woman arrived too, which I wanted to win for the village. - So, the thieves pew-pew killed at least 4 different storylines of RP, potentially good RP, at least the kind of RP *I* am in Gor for. So, I wasn't happy about that. My guests left, the merchant left, the savage left and the baker logged off. *sigh*

The good thing that day was to finally meet my bestie Teleny again. We haven't met for a while... both too busy. We played "I show you mine and you show me yours" *heh* No, not what YOU think! He showed me his new house he built.  Really nice built. I'm so envious that he has the time for building. I need to take more time for it too. Then I showed him my basement and he agreed, that I should sell it. Well, soon have to see, that I renew the "store" on marketplace. Since it changed from XStreet to Marketplace my products are not found easily, I think. At least I didn't sell anything anymore since the change. So I'm going to renew it all.
Well, that's it for today. We will see what today brings...

and it's Gor again!

Awwww! I'm sorry... my non-Gorean readers (the 2 of 5?) will be bored by all my entries about Gor and Gorean RP. But I'm doing not much else these days, so I got nothing else to talk about....

However, was again busy following that storyline, but do have to say some things about "Disney Gor" and such. Sweet Misha wrote an article in his blog about it last week; wanted to leave a comment, but then there's so much to say about it, that I better write here. I think there's so much more in between "By the Books" (BTB) and so-called "Disney Gor". And even BTB is not like BTB. It's like with the bible - there are some extremists who take it literally... and then there are the others.
True is, that SL is not and never CAN BE like Gor in the books. True is also, that even the Gor in the books can't be like the Gor in the books, cause - let's be honest - John Norman isn't the brightest light. There are so many errors in his logic... I wonder how a guy like him could ever become a Doctor and Professor in Philosophy!? And he's definitely one of the worst writers in the history of fiction. He not only contradicts himself from one book to the other, but often within the same book, sometimes even on the same page.
However, I agree with Misha: SL can't just be like the books. (Uhm... be like the books? Means... aweful conversations and such? Well, maybe it can! *grins*) You have always to draw a logical line - the things that WOULD be, and the things how they ARE in SL-Gor.
Example: A big city WOULD BE crowded with citizens, warriors, merchants, guards etc etc etc. A panther WOULD never DARE to walk right into the city and set houses on fire. - But in SL of course it often happens that a city is empty of players. So those panthers - with just a look on the map of SL, seeing no dots there - can happily run around and burn the whole city down.
That's just one of many examples. But the point is: You don't have to know the exact size of a ko-ro-ba sword, but you can try to play in the SPIRIT OF THE BOOKS. Be logical, rational and always think "Would I..." and not "I do, cause I can!"

So, yesterday I took three thralls with me on a travel. I was about to visit the kurii of the six claws clan. We RPed, that I provided the boys with bows and arrows. It's logical, it's rational - I was going to meet the kurii, so hey! I won't meet those beasts with unarmed thralls. They were not meant as traveling fare! (And if you really NEED a quota: "And among them stood, too, thralls. Their heads were not lower than those with whom they stood. Among them was the lad called Tarsk, formerly Wulfstan of Kassau, to whom Thyri had once been given for the night. In the night of the attack he, at the Forkbeard’s encampment near the thing field, with an ax, had slain a Kur. I remembered finding the carcass of the animal beneath the fallen, half-burned canvas of the Forkbeard’s tent. Thralls are not permitted to touch the war arrow, but they are permitted to kneel to those who have. Wulfstan had handed the Forkbeard the ax, disarming himself, and had then knelt before him, putting his head to his feet. Thralls may be slain for so much as touching a weapon. He had taken dirt from beneath the feet of the Forkbeard and, kneeling, had poured it on his head. “Rise, Thrall,” had said the Forkbeard. The young man had then stood, and straightly, head high, before the Forkbeard. The Forkbeard threw him back the ax. “Carry it,” said the Forkbeard."~ Marauders of Gor) - In the books of course a Jarl (= Master, Free Man)  would be accompanied by other jarls; not so many online at that time. So, had to rely only on the boys. That's one of the concessions we have to make to SL-Gor.
But now comes Disney-Gor, although the SIM claimed to be "BTB". One of the SIM-laws: "Slaves may only use weapons doing 11% damage or less." - Now, this is the most ridiculous thing ever. Why should a male slave's arrow do less damage then a male Free's arrow - especially when the slaves are trained in bows? A difference between male and female - maybe (depends on the bow. a woman - and most males - wouldn't be able to even string a longbow), but a difference between a (male) slave and (male) free arrow? A male slave with a weapon should be even superiour to a Free Woman, because it's mentioned again and again in the books: Male = strong, Female = Weak. (To be clear: This doesn't justify slaves running around heavily armed and threatening every Free they meet.)
After a few steps into the land we met a bond-maid... a slave... or better: A pet of the kurii. So: She was throaning on a kaiila (=carnivour horselike animal from the south) and insolent like hell. I think this was the most ridiculous, un-Gorean, Disney-Gor thing I ever met! First: A kaiila is an animal of the south, not the northern lands where the kurii live. Second: Neverever would a slavegirl be able to ride such a dangerous beast (In the books only one woman I remember to ever ride on a kaiila. She was an outlaw in the Tahari). And then a kur-pet... she's meant to be food for them. She would be frightend, chained, always having the thought to escape the beasts (the pet of mentioned Krael plays this role excellen!)... anything else but riding on a damn kaiila in the Northern Hills and eye-rolling and backmouthing at Free Men. --- But I don't waste my time with such people anymore; I just ignore them as good as I can.

However, the RP with the kur there was not bad although we been on the wrong place. So we returned pretty soon.

After we returned to Hrimgar... lots of traffic on the docks. It took hours until it got a bit quiet. I have to say, I'm a bit proud as I think a good part of the increasing traffic of Hrimgar and the reputation for good RP is to my and River's benefit. I just wished there were more active Jarls present who take part in the RP, so it's not always up to me to care for visitors.
So I was just about to close the doors of the storagehall, the thralls already warming my furs, as another ship arrived and the kurii I sought for came for a visit. Another nice RP with them, though I wasn't - due to late night (around 5 am) - to my best. But the storyline continues... Yay!

Okay, bored you enough with Gor-stories! But as I said - atm nothing else to tell....

The promotion

I thought long about this, but finally I decided to do it, cause he deserved it: Yesterday I promoted River, my lil sunshine, to first boy in the chain.

My other boys are rarely there these days (all vanished - AGAIN!). And to be honest: He deserves it the most. He's in charge of the docks, when I'm not present; he cares for the house, the animals.. working really hard day by day. So it was time for this reward!

I wanted to do it more ceremonial, but then we were interrupted by a weirdo attacking us at the docks (knocked him down within some seconds) and then a hunt on a panther-girl... and as I finally reached the longhall, everybody - including my boy - was about to log out, so I had to hurry. But a nice ceremony for it will come... and maybe some more surprises. *grins mysteriously*

The Search part II

After another visit of the kurii we decided to make a progress in the search of information about the Priest Kings. One of the thieves' boys - Endy - did know about a temple that mysteriously led right into a PK's nest. For the kurii it would be unreachable, as they can't travel too far by ship and also wouldn't be able to cross the Northern Forests.
We went on the long travel - my boy River, the thief-thrall Endy and a strange white-haired guy called Kohlbrandr. We found the temple and the nest, but it was empty - neither Priest Kings ((sidenote: Did anyone ever try to play a PK? That would be an interesting change in Gorean RP!)) nor Initiates or other human helpers were to find. But at least this way we were able to explore the nest without... distraction.
The others were full of awe at the technology which to them of course must have seemed like the power and magic of Gods:

We didn't find much usefull for the kurii, so the thrall Endy just took one of the magical crystals with him - must be some teleporter device, but of course the others won't understand that.  But I think the kurii will know. However once outside the nest it lost it's power, so it just hovers in the air, turning around and looking pretty.

Soon we will go on the dangerous passage to the camp of the kurii to deliver to them the mysterious crystal and the information.

Matteus Weatherwax: "Tal, greetings and Salutations."
Franziskus Ninetails beams as he enters the docks "Ah, I've suspected right. There you are, Endy. Tal, boy!"
Matteus Weatherwax: "Ah this is the man you were speaking of Franzi?"
Kolbrandr nods, "Very well," he quips casually, not particularly bothered by the potential wait, but more curious as to the situation. He nods as he sees the two figures approaching- one whom he recognizes from the tavern and the docks not so long ago, and the other whom he seems to remember, but cannot place him. "Tal," he says, not remembering the taller man's name, and not knowing the other's.
Endymion Avalira: "Greetings Master", Endy Says to the strange Master that he does not know
Endymion Avalira sees the harbor Master and quickly addes "Greetings Harbor Master"
Franziskus Ninetails's glance wanders to the pale young man he seen the day before at the thieves' camp "Tal. I'm Franziskus, the Harbour Master. I've seen you at the camp. You are one of the thieves?"
Franziskus Ninetails looks over to the ship, his gaze meeting the captains angry eyes, waiting impatiently for them.
Matteus Weatherwax smiled down to the boy Endy and grins at him and then looks back up to the soft complected male and says then: "I am Matteus, Great Jarl of the Hrimgar Northern Expanse." Matteus was an imposing figure but seemed to be of a jovial nature.
Franziskus Ninetails points to the blond boy to his side "And this is River, my lil sunshine"
River Airy says softly "Tal, Jarl"
Kolbrandr tilts his head, "Some might say that..." he replies to the harbour master rather cryptically. "I am Kolbrandr... travl'r of the lands. I take what I can, and trade where I cannot," he says. "I've heard ye make fine mead- had a sampl'ng last night," he quips. He nods in turn to the taller man. "Aye... I've seen ye at the tavern before,"... and the docks, but he wasn't going to bring that up.
Endymion Avalira whispers carefully to the harbor Master "Is that the father of Odin people talk about? The great Jarl?" his voice betraying a slight awe
Franziskus Ninetails looks a bit confused down to the thief-thrall "Father of Odin?" - Suddenly he beams "Oh, you mean 'High Jarl'? No, that's the title of the leader, Endy"
Endymion Avalira blushes, still not understanding the Northern ways, and says quietly "Yes Master"
Franziskus Ninetails catches another angry look from the captain, so nods to him before he turns back to the others "Well, we should lift anchor before the Captain binds the one or other slave to an oar!". He looks at Endy and winks
Kolbrandr quirks a brow toward the harbourmaster, since he was the one whom they had sought out. "What 'xactly be all this about?" he mumurs, pursing his lips slightly in confusion, wondering where they were traveling to. He didn't like being left out of the loop, and his curiousity ate at him like a hunger. Maybe there would be something worth stealing on this trip...
Endymion Avalira: "Master, if... we are going on a mission and to avoid initiates, may myself and your boy have permission to stand" Endy lowers his eyes at his forwardness in asking the Master such a question
Franziskus Ninetails nods to Endy "Aye, you may stand and keep your eyes open. As I see you have your bow with you... just in case". He smiles
{Matt had to leave at this point}
Endymion Avalira: "Thank you Master"
Franziskus Ninetails still not sure if the white-haired one, calling himself Kol, is one to trust or not, shrugs his considerations away. If necessary a nice deep cut at his throat would silence him anyways.
Franziskus Ninetails: Well, lets go. Endy, you tell the captain the course
Endymion Avalira takes the map scroll oout of his bag and boards the ship to give it to the captain
River Airy: joins his master on the ship
River Airy kneels to the side waiting for the ship to set sail
Franziskus Ninetails whispers with the captain and commands him that he and his men have an eye on the white haired stranger. Then goes under deck to have a talk with Matt about the further plans and to inform him about what he knows from the slaveboy so far
Kolbrandr adjusts the sharp glinting blades around his back, making sure they are ready should they be needed to strike. With still no knowledge of where they were travelling, it was ever-more important to be wary. Thoughts of fabulous foreign silks and jewels danced in his eyes as he looked out to the cool, open blue water. He avoided casting any skeptical looks toward the others, as they were still strangers and did not want to further arouse their suspicion.

{after several hands (weeks) of sailing (or maybe just a second of TP) and rowing, around the Northern Cap and then up the river Vosk the ship finally reached the Town of Herlit.}

Franziskus Ninetails hums a melody he knows from Earth, his lips froming strange words, not Gorean "I am saiiiiling.... I am saiiiiiiliiiing...."
Endymion Avalira thanks the captain politly for their swift journey
Franziskus Ninetails as they finally anchor looks around the empty docks before he sets a foot on land
River Airy: looks around and thinks it looks like a viking village that he read about in books on earth
Endymion Avalira looks around scanning the surroundings trying to remember where in terror he had run away from, then spots a familiar land mark "This way Masters, brother"
River Airy follows behind his master
Kolbrandr deboards the boat, following behind the others, looking around and seeing something akin to civilization. That was nice. Plenty of houses to thieve from, and not a soul in sight to report it. His eyes strained to peer at the surrounding area. He moves quickly, following after the darker skinned boy, casting a curious glance as they reach the mouth of a cave. "Loh..." he remarks, wondering what might be inside.
Franziskus Ninetails as they reach the cave "So this is where you found those crystals, Endy?"
Endymion Avalira thinks hard... "..... in a way Master, I am not sure where the light took me... but this is where the light resides."
Kolbrandr hears the harbourmaster's words and his eyes light up. Crystals were a valuable commodity, if ever there was one. He could surely make a killing in the South with them. If there were crystals inside he would be aiming for them.
Endymion Avalira trying not to show fear in front of the others he tries to keep the tremor out of his voice as he says "Master wishes to go ahead?"
River Airy hangs back behind his master and peers into the darkness.
Franziskus Ninetails nods, then recognizes the little water fountain {Holy water for soul-cleaning *smile*}. He steps closer and dips a finger into the water-surface, nods and finally splashes water from it with both hands into his face to clean it from sweat and the salt of the sea.
Endymion Avalira takes a deep breathe "This way Master, stay close brother"
Kolbrandr looks toward the slaves, wondering at their hesitation and decides to begin entering the place. He had every intention of acquiring some gemstones or crystals if they lay within. He hadn't found any such thing in the Northern Expanse thus far.
Franziskus Ninetails shakes the water out of his hair and face. Refreshed he answers full of energy "Let's go!"
Franziskus Ninetails: hmmm, what a strange place
Franziskus Ninetails: it somehow reminds me of Tidra... just... hm... brighter then the temple there
River Airy: its really quite beautiful my master
Endymion Avalira pauses for a moment and whispers to the fellow thief "There is gold behind the waterfall"
Endymion Avalira quickly fills his bag with food in case they are captured
River Airy: where is the jarl my master
Franziskus Ninetails beams "Oh look! They even provide us with dinner. What hospitality!". He reaches for some pieces of bread, stuffs some in his pouch and reaches some to his boy also
)( Bread Rolls whispers: eating Bread mmmm...
Endymion Avalira chuckles
Franziskus Ninetails: Ah, there you are
Franziskus Ninetails takes the last two breads and tosses them to the blond thief
Kolbrandr looks around the place in astonishment, he had expected a dark cavern, but instead found a gushing waterfall. However, beautiful as it might be, there were no crystals to be seen. The dissapointing on his face was likely visible. As the slave murmurs something to him, the thief slips behind the waterfall, catching sight of something and slipping it away for safekeeping before returning to join the others.
Endymion Avalira chuckles hearing the fellow thiefs legs now chuckling with his movements suspecting why he has been delayed, and is glad he remembered to take is bag with him
River Airy pauses just behind his master and whispers, "what place is this my mster?"
Endymion Avalira whipers "remember you way back from here... when I escaped the strange place of the crystals and lights this library is where I appeared"
Franziskus Ninetails whispers over his shoulders to his boy "The temple of Sardar it seems, my boy. The Goreans pilger to this place once in their lifetime"
Endymion Avalira: "Take care, the path gets dangerous from here
River Airy: my master, it is dark
Endymion Avalira tries to keep the fear out of his voice "tread carefully, and keep to the walls"
River Airy: my master, i dont want to go in there
Franziskus Ninetails: Do you want to go back to the ship, my lil sunshine?
River Airy nods
Franziskus Ninetails nods "Will you find the way?""
River Airy: i think so, my master
Franziskus Ninetails: Then go back to the ship
[... River had to log for sleep]
River Airy: i will warn the captain to be ready to leave in a hurry
Endymion Avalira shouts: "Do not touch the buttons, they are booby trapped
Franziskus Ninetails lets his boy down to his feet again, then reaches to his quivas and takes one. He squats down to stuff the knife into his boy's legwarmers "Just in case....", he smiles
River Airy smiles "I will be fine, my master. You take care"
Franziskus Ninetails ruffles his boy's hair and releases him to return to the ship. Then grabs one of the torches to follow the others
Endymion Avalira calls back to the Master "Be careful of the bridge Master"
Endymion Avalira waits patiently suspecting that his fellow brother may still be rearrnaging his silks in the dark
Franziskus Ninetails as he finally crossed the bridge whipes the sweat from his face. "Whew! That is quite dangerous to get up here. I'm glad I've sent River back to the ship!"
Endymion Avalira looks to the harbor Master in concern "He has been injured?"
Kolbrandr eyes the harbour master and the thief slave as their numbers seem to dwindle gradually. It would be easier to steal something valuable with fewer witnesses and less to compete over it. Anyway, though he might've enjoyed company, he was more the solitary type- travelling in groups for him was not idea. He listened to their concern over the axe-weilding man's boy, but did not participate in the conversation, feeling no need.
Franziskus Ninetails shakes his head "Just tired. He had some... uhm... hard days. I worried that he wouldn't be able to make the path up here so I sent him back to the ship to warn the captain that we might have to leave in a hurry"
Endymion Avalira: "A good and wise plan Master"
Endymion Avalira grins to the fellow thief and harbor Master "Look in the box!"
Endymion Avalira acting like any true thief begins filling his bag quickly
Franziskus Ninetails looks around the richly ornamented hall, his eyes searching for anything useful for the kurii
Franziskus Ninetails takes a short look into the box "What's in there?"
Kolbrandr snaps his head toward the box and opening one of the pockets lining his clothing, he likewise begins to pile on the gold, just enough that it shouldn't weight him down unduly. This was more like what he had been searching for... A profitable journey indeed. If nothing else, at least he had stocked up on gold.
Endymion Avalira grins "riches enough to pay of the debts for your rebuilding Master"
Franziskus Ninetails: My rebuilding?
Endymion Avalira: "The villagers said your home was badly damaged by fire Master"
Kolbrandr looks around the temple, trying not to display his awe at the eerie beauty of the place. He didn't like it when his emotions betrayed him by being in full display. It was preferable to simply seek out the expensive items and steal them. His nimble fingers traced over a coin in his pocket, and he grinned to himself a little at the familiar weight of currency.
Endymion Avalira kneels before the altar, looking over his shoulder he calls out "Down here, you see a light - just raise your hand to it" fearfully he reaches out and once more grasps
Franziskus Ninetails smiles nonchalant and ignores the gold, no reason for him to tell thieves - even if they are sworn to the same homestone - that he saved enough gems from the beach of Tidra, hiding in his chambers treasures that would even make an Ubar envious; though however knowing that you can't eat gold or jewels, and other goods - bread and bosk to eat, salt to cure the meat, furs to keep warm at night - are more important then any riches of Gor
Franziskus Ninetails so just answers "Oh, the damages are repaired and paid for. So do not worry"
Kolbrandr spies the book that sits propped up in the middle of the altar, wondering what it says. Coming from a rather small village, he was perhaps a little embarassed at his inability to read fluently. Then again, it was more commonly a skill of the scribes. He could make out a few letters, sometimes even a word or two... But he would rely on the slaves of the camp to write for him should he need it. He continues to follow after the others cautiously. He had accumulated a good helping of gold and he did not see reason to lose it... or his life, unnecessarily.
Franziskus Ninetails does as the slave and the thief did before him. Seeing them suddenly vanish. More intrigued and fascinated then scared he gets teleported to a secret room, in his mind somehow adoring the PKs for their technical equipment
Franziskus Ninetails: "This.... is... fascinating"

Franziskus Ninetails looks around, cautiously
Franziskus Ninetails: Is it here you got the crystals?
Endymion Avalira: "Yes Master, one of these" Endy carefully touches one
Franziskus Ninetails points at the green crystals hovering 'magically' over the floor... at least it would seem so to an innocent Gorean, but of course in his Earthian knowledge and his contact to the PKs he knows, that they have the technology to influence gravity
Franziskus Ninetails frowns as the boy touches one of the crystals and vanish before his eyes
Endymion Avalira calls out "Master, over here!"
Kolbrandr seems confused at the unfamiliar location. He had seen quite some grand halls and temples in his travels. He had even see some lavish taverns, but he had never seen anything quite like this. The floors were immaculate and bizarrely patterned. Everything was made from largely foreign materials that he couldn't even hope to describe, and had certainly never seen before in his life. There did not seem to be anything organic in sight. At the same time, there did not appear to be anything worth taking or of obvious value.
Franziskus Ninetails whispers to the boy "What's this? A cage? Hmmmm... I wonder whom they prison up in here. You know that we are in a PK's nest, boy?"
Endymion Avalira strokes the bars of the cage, a memory for a moment sparking in is mind... terror... loss... home gone.... confusion and as quickly as it came the memory drifts away
Endymion Avalira: "A pk nest.... that would explain it maybe, Master" Endy wonders having heard that pk claimed people from earth, and being told that he speaks with the barbarians accent if perhaps this is how he came to be on Gor
Endymion Avalira shivers in voluntery, then turning to the Masters "There is a map on the far wall, Masters"
Franziskus Ninetails studies the map together with the others
Franziskus Ninetails: Hmmmm, up there are the Hrimgar Mountains
Franziskus Ninetails points up to the North
Endymion Avalira: "Near the top, ' Hrimgar Mountains'... they know of us, I cannot see our village though"
Kolbrandr follows after the others, wondering at the familiarity with which the harbor master treats the thief slave, but deciding for the time not to comment on it. The workings of Hrimgar were new to him, and though he had heard of the man who ran the dockyard, he did not know him in the least. Then again, the bizarre nature of the place we were in was far too distracting to waste time thinking about such things. As he approaches the oversized map he takes a look at it. The more he travelled, the better he became with maps, though his literary skills were still not the best. He preferred to pick landmarks as he travelled about, and navigate based upon those.
Franziskus Ninetails: You see Helmustport and the bay there?
Franziskus Ninetails: somewhere there must be Hrimgar
Endymion Avalira hovers a hand over some of the buttons wondering whether to press one
Franziskus Ninetails looks fascnitated at the futuristic instruments, knowing some from his travels on the PKs spaceships, but sure it must be like magic to the Goreans. So he stays in the background... silently... looking for anything that could be helpful to the kurii
Franziskus Ninetails suddenly smiles "What would the kurii give if they could be here! But there's no way for them over the ocean, and they wouldn't be able to cross the fNorthern Forests. And even if...."
Franziskus Ninetails: "... I think the PKs would have their methods to prevent the beasts from entering here"
Franziskus Ninetails looks around again "Although... I haven't seen anyone here. You would expect at least some human helpers or anything?"
Endymion Avalira shouts: "The temple was empty when I came last... a plague perhaps?"
[Franzi falls down 2 levels]
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: I FALLEN!
[and helps himself with some rope-arrows]
Endymion Avalira calls out "Master?"
Franziskus Ninetails wipes the sweat from his face after climbing up the whole way
[In the meantime Endy jumping down to help]
Franziskus Ninetails looks over the rim "What are you doing now down there, thrall???"
Endymion Avalira looks up "Master had fallen... I came down with rope and a grapple to help....."
Franziskus Ninetails loops up the rope he had used on an arrow to get up again and attaches it on one of his belts
Franziskus Ninetails draws his bow and shakes it, waving with it over the rim to the boy "I have my own, thank you!"
Franziskus Ninetails draws his bow from his shoulders
Endymion Avalira unhooks his grapple muttering
Franziskus Ninetails chuckles and shakes his head, shrugging to the still suspicious white hairded thief, mumbling "Slaves!"
Franziskus Ninetails shrugs
Kolbrandr nods in agreement, offering a slight eye roll in bemusement as he watches the slave return by way of rope and grapple hook. He had filled his pockets with gold, and nothing here pertained to him... Unless there was valuable information, but the cryptic behaviour of the slave and harbour master only served to confuse him further.
[After Endy climbed up again]
Franziskus Ninetails: Well, I don't know what we could take with us to deliver it to the kurii
Franziskus Ninetails: And if it's true and a plague killed the PKs, then...
Franziskus Ninetails takes a deep breath before he continues "... we better not tell the kurii. I don't mind, if they fight the initiates. But without the protection of the PKs, we are delivered helplessly to the kurii and their technology"
Franziskus Ninetails sighs, recognizing that he's more or less talking to himself as the Goreans won't have the slightest idea what he's talking about
Franziskus Ninetails: Maybe they left and went to another place? A secret one?
Endymion Avalira shrugs, the desision of the free being none of his business, and pleasure being taken in a bag full of treasure to pleaase the Mistress"
[Franzi touches an electric-sphere in his curiousity and gets electrified]
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: OUCH!!!!!!!
Endymion Avalira shouts: Maybe they left if a plague killed the initiates Master?"
Franziskus Ninetails shakes his hand and blows fresh air on it, then points over his shoulder, grimacing "Don't touch this!"
Franziskus Ninetails once again looks around "So, how do we get out of here?"
Endymion Avalira strains and climbs yet another rope
Endymion Avalira: This is the one that freed me Master
Franziskus Ninetails: freed you?
[Endy vanishes before his eyes]
Franziskus Ninetails sighs
Franziskus Ninetails: what did he touch NOW?
[Franzi and Kol touch another crystal. Suddenly they are outside the hills]
Franziskus Ninetails: Oh, we are out!
Franziskus Ninetails looks around in surprise
Franziskus Ninetails: But where is the thrall?
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: ENDY!!!!!!!!
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: ENDY!!!!!!!!!!!
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: ENDY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Franziskus Ninetails shouts: ENDY!!!!!
Kolbrandr tilts his head. It still sounded like gibberish to him... Hrimgar was not so far away from his tundra-filled hometown that he should be rendered incapable of understanding what they spoke of.”then again, the caste system was far less complicated, and there had been few to no slaves where he grew up. His people would not have been capable of affording or feeding them. He laughs heartily as the harbor master injures his hand. 'Would make a terrible thief..'he sniggers quietly to the slave beside him. He follows after them as they grapple another rope, seeking the exit. He likewise looks startled as they return to the brush.
[Suddenly Endy appears too between the bushes]
Endymion Avalira shudders at the wrenching the crystal make
Franziskus Ninetails: Ah, there you are! Where have you been, thrall!?!
Franziskus Ninetails: Well, I think as we are out already, we should return to the ship. I definitely will not crawl through that dark cave and climb over that bridge again today
Endymion Avalira lowers his head in shame.... "I found a new crystal Master, a blue one to go with the green"
Franziskus Ninetails beams "Ohhhhh! Let me see? Does it beam... I mean... uhm... does it do that magic too?"
Endymion Avalira: I am not sure Master, when I touch it nothing happens, but is floats and spins on its own
Endymion Avalira: .... maybe the Kurii would be interested in it... but not be able to figure it out and be a danger to the Gods
Franziskus Ninetails rubs his chin "Well, we will deliver it to the kurii. Maybe they know what to do with it"
Kolbrandr watches the others, seeming eager enough to head back. His pockets were quite full of gold and he would need somewhere safe to store it prior to trading. The talk of crystals, though intriguing, is merely something he keeps in the back of his mind.
Franziskus Ninetails: It's getting dark already...." - He looks quizzically at Kol and then the slave - "We should return to the ship. It's a long passage. I think the harbour was there in the Southeast!" - Points west
[Return to the ship]
Franziskus Ninetails nods to the captain that they are ready to set sails
Kolbrandr seems a bit thrown off from the peculiar adventure... and travelling by boat was not exactly his preferred method. He looks out at the glassy water, and shudder at the thought of dock eels... Or worse yet.. Being sea sick. He was really going to have to get over his hatred of the seas one day... He watches as the boat begins to set sail.. Confused but not altogether unhappy, given that he now sports quite a bit of new wealth.
Franziskus Ninetails yawns and streatches, smacking his lips and then yawns again. "Well, you will find me under deck. I will join my boy in the furs. It will be a long travel home to Hrimgar!"
Endymion Avalira: "Yes Master" Endy looks for a moment at the Master and his boy and the thief, then curls up an a corner to sleep "Good night Masters, good night brother"
Franziskus Ninetails: Good night, Kol. Good night, Endy!

Cupids dance

On sunday been to the Tabor OOC-dance with my lil sunshine River. I miss dancing, especially DJ Heloq's sets at Tainted Boys on mondays. Just too busy with too many things as usual. :-(

However it was themed Valentines Day and we came as cupids. Looked quite cute:

The Basement

Finally I finished the skybox-basement this week.I think it's not too bad:

I like the basement-atmosphere:

And built even a lightbulb to switch light on/off:

Now I don't know....

... if I should build a house on it...

... or just sell it as skybox (actually it's our earth-dungeon *smiles*)....

.. or both?

... and busy week

okay, okay, okay - I had promised to tell more about the RPs on monday... but then there were on tuesday and wednesday and thursday... - Just too busy, but at least it's fun. Trying to keep running some storylines. Most of Gorean RP is just pew-pew or OOC talk or sex. Still got the hope, that one day more people will come together in big, interactional RP-storylines.

Soooo, this were the ongoings: On monday first the daughter of Eilly - one of the thieves-group in Hrimgar - almost drowned. It was fun to RP, how we carried her to the Healer's house.....

...  got her a hot tub, a healer, the drama with her fiance (as far as I understood) etc. - Not such a big event, just a nice little RP, but I liked it much, as almost the whole group RPed together and everyone was busy with something.

After she was treated well, I sat in the longhall with the healer to discuss the purchase of a slave with him. But as we were just about it, the gulls at the docks cried loud and we went outside to take a look. And there he was again: The kur and his pet and a larl (okay, looked more like a dog/wolf. larls are feline... I think meanwhile she changed the AV*).

*) correction - my fault! It said "lart", not "larl". Explains it all!

He's really impressive! - Who doesn't know, what a kur is (plural kurii): They are werewolf-like creatures on Gor. They are the enemies of the Priest Kings. A alien race who tries to conquer Gor as well as Earth. The wars between kurii and PKs is going on for aeons. Some of their spaceships crashed on Gor and the PKs - for what reason ever - allow the surviving kurii to stay, but destroy the technology. --- However, this kur - Krael - is one of the kur of the ships. A more "civilized" version then the savage kurii, but still dangerous of course. They prefer eating human flesh....

So, Krael had "summoned" me two days before, for the information about the initiates he asked for. I had neither the time, not information yet, not did I like to be "summoned".. however, I wasn't there yet, so he came again to Hrimgar. Had to tell him, that our High Jarl still is missing on travels... so he just had his human pet treated by the physician (she was attacked by a man) and then I brought him to the docks.

Who didn't join us on the way to the docks was the larl. It kept missing. Prolly it found a larl-companion in the mountains? However, the very next day the storage of all the meat in the butcher-house was devoured and a lot of traces of larl-paws were to see in the snow. Now we had to eat fish the next days...

So, for obvious reasons (did I mention they are dangerous?) I didn't want to anger the kurii. I don't think we would be able to fight a war with those mighty beasts, especially as we are very few armed Free atm in Hrimgar.
Plan A: Find an initiate, capture him and drag him to the kurii. May they do with him whatever they want. I for myself doubt that the initiates have the slightest idea of the nature of the PKs. And the Torvies believe in Odin and the Northern Gods, not in the PKs (of course I know better, but... ). So we'd have not much mercy with the initiates anyways. The problem is just: The initiates are rare. GOOD initiate-RPers even rarer. In most SIMs the temples are Safe Zone and the initiates sacrosant. As soon as you'd down one, they'd cry and whine "Invalid! Invalid!" and ban you from their SIM. Which of course is nonsense! Read "Marauders of Gor"! Damnit! - However I tried to make a few steps in this storyline:

I went disguised to Tabor, broke into the temple, searched it but found nothing.

Well, at least I found a "painting".....

..... cut it out of it's frame ....

So I at least have the painting to show the kurii and prove that I'm busy in this mission. Better then nothing.

Of course, as I already thought, there came zero reaction from there. I'd sent them the notecard of the stealing of the painting, but nothing, zero, nada. It's quite a shame - such a big cluster, but no people willing to RP!

However, my search will continue, but if not successfull soon, we will go over to...

.. Plan B: Find a good RPer, who has not in his RP-limits that his hair is too valuable to be cut off... Capture him, shave his head, stuff him in white clothes, wrap him in a rug and deliver him like once ol' Lizzy as Cleopatra to Caesar Rex Harrison... I mean, to Krael. Of course he will deny, that he is an initiate, but who else but a true initiate would deny that he is one when he faces danger?
Sooner or later the kurii will find out, that they were cheated, so we will have to prepare for war anyways. But if nothing else helps it will give us time!

We will see, how this story is going on. On another travel I finally found someone to trade some goods. I needed paga, as I don't like mead much. And I also wanted to bring one barrel to a group of outlaws who once had captured my lil sunshine, but treated him nice and released him without a trade. But somehow our ship must have wandered off course and we landed on a dangerous, unpleasent island. We searched around for a while... it was really scary with skeletons along the pathes.... But we found an unguarded butcher-shop and - voila! - we have meat again! :-)

We RPed, how we got the meat on the ship, but only the bigger pieces as we didn't trust the smaller ones (remember: Human skeletons!), put it all on ice. Left a picture with the robbed store (well, actually I left a silver tarsk on the counter, so I'm not a thief), a LM and a notecard with the story. ---- It was all sent back without any reaction. *sighs* But anyways, our supplies are filled again and I nailed some wood before the butcher-house, so it's safe from larls.

I think that was all about RP so far. Except from the kur I have my doubts that any of the other RPs will in any way be answered. But it was worth a try.

******************

Another thing I was busy this week was building a basement on our earth-parcel. Well, the basement is in the sky for doing other kind of RP (winks), but I think it's becoming quite nice. Maybe I should sell it for some L$:

******************

Well, that's all for today, folks! I wish everyone a nice weekend!

another busy day

Had another busy day yesterday in Hrimgar. More then 6 hours continuing RP... the stories will follow later.

However, it was good, because it distracted me. It would have been the 2-year-anniversary of my partnership with Kenshi.

'nough said!

Today in the longhall

Sometimes I have my doubts what I'm doing at all in Gor. But in moments like this, sometimes when you don't expect it at all, you have great RP when you meet other RPers with the same love and skills for RP. So, today a kur and his pet visited Hrimgar (unfortunately I forgot to take a pic!), and this was happening. This actually is a chat-log. I just corrected the names here and there and some typos, everything else was emoted like you read it here:

Felina, the bondmaid, she shivered deeply as she felt the massive digits running down her mane. Taking on a tone of sweet bravery, she turned and faced the Kur. Her warm velvet lips parted to ask: "My Lord, if you would let me off the chain....I could get some drinks."
Shock, a jarl of Hrimgar, nods his head and laughs, brushing a few specks of dust off his tunic before he makes his way futher inside.
"So... Let us settle in and talk about trade.", the ruby haired Jarl motions toward the tables, "Just be careful where you sit... Some of the benches have seen better days from the last batch of brawls."
Krael, the kur, growls in approval to his pet, reaching down to unfasten the chain on her collar after stroking thick digits along her cheek. "Mead for me, mine, and get the men what they want." He nods to the man with a grunt, "Thank you, I will take care not to break things.....too badly".
Shock glances toward Felina and smiles, "I do not require anything at the moment, girl... But please feel free to serve any of our mead or food." The Jarl makes his way to an empty bench and seats himself. He waves to Dar: " Come Dar, I wish for you to hear this since your father is the Harbor Master."
A spot of desperate hope appeared in the bondmaids emerald eyes as the huge Kur took the chain from her collar and let her move about. But her hope for escape was quickly dashed as she spotted just how close the drinks were. A soft sigh danced from her lips as she turned and acknowledged the statement from the Jarl. Her eyes roamed to the other man with a questioning glance as she spoke: "And for you Jarl?"
"Nothing, I dont drink much.", answers Dar, the harbourmaster's son.
Meanwhile Shock brings his attention to Krael: "So, tell me... What do you wish to trade?"
The kur settles onto the bench carefully, easing his massive weight down as the wood creaks under him, ready to move quickly in case it collapses. A feral grin spreads on his maw as he settles in and the bench holds his weight before turning to the man that sat beside him. "My clan always seeks information about the enemy, that is our main interest in trade. We have wealth to offer in payment for such information, of course, and the humans that are of assistance to us wouldn't be considered as potential prey."
In the corner of the longhall the bondmaid Felina nodded her head as she turned to face the selection, silken tresses kissing down along her back with her movements. Stretching upwards, she pressed up onto tip toe and tugged down the largest horn she could find. Quickly filling it with mead from the barell, she wrapped both her hands about it and turned back towards the table. Her teeth grazed against the inside of her bottom lip as she slowly approached the Kur. Her heartbeat hammering wildly in her chest as she moved her arms out in front of her and offered Him the full horn that was cuddled between her small palms.
Darion sat still on the bench, listening carefully the conversation between Krael, the kur, and Shock of Hrimgar.
Shock stretches out his neck by shifting his head from side to side, grinning impishly at Krael's words while he settles into the padded seat. "Well, if your enemies turn out to be our enemies I do not see how it would be a problem... As for payment for such services, I am curious on what you would have to provide."
Krael grunts low with pleasure watching his pet move around the kitchen, dark eyes gleaming with possesssive pride. His gaze remains locked on her as she crosses back to him, huffing out a low laugh as she nibbles on her lip as he reaches out to take the horn, his massive paw dwarfing the vessel as it's taken from her small hands. His thick right arm reaches out, settling around her curved waist to keep her close to his side as he raises the horn for a drink of the sweet mead before addressing the man again: "Hmmmm, gems, coin, trade items we have taken from other humans that weren't as.....cooperative. Things can be negotiated if the information is what we seek."
Shock taps his fingers along the heavy table, nodding his head as the Kur finishes speaking. "So, which of your enemies did you want information about?" He lets his emerald eye rest on the large male beside him, "Hopefully they are not a city or village that we hold an alliance with."
Felina was releived as the horn left her fingers as she had hopes of wandering about the longhouse while the others seemed distracted in conversation. But again her hopes were dashed as before she could move away, the iron grip of the Kur's muscular arm enclosed about her waiste. Stiffling the yelp that struggled to lift from her heavily chained throat, she pulled in a deep breath and settled against His side. His fur warm and luxurious against her tender skin as her form almost dissappeared into the depths of it. Finally relaxing a bit, she tuned out the conversation and let her fingers begin to toy lightly with the long braids of hair that decorated Him.
Krael grunts low to the man, lowering the horn after a deep drink, dark eyes gleaming as he huffs out a rumbled laugh, shaking his massive head. "I doubt they are allies of yours, our enemies are those that rule the humans of the south.....the priest kings....any information you may have or come by on them or the ones in white that serve them will be richly rewarded." He growls low to his pet, lifting her in a massive arm to settle on the table before him, letting her rest and relax as his paw strokes slowly along the length of her branded thigh, tracing the mark he placed there himself with the tip of one claw.
Franziskus, the harbourmaster, enters the longhall and stops abruptly right in the entrance as a strong musk scent reaches his nostrils immediately. His eyes trying to adjust to the dimmed light in the longhall.. don't need long to find the source of the strong smell. He stares at the big furry body sitting at the table. His hand sliding in reflex to the hilt of his axe, but hestitates as he sees the kur beast in peaceful negotiations with Shock . Without looking behind him he kicks the doors close with his boots. Not raising his hand he mumbles a suspicious "Tal....", his eyes fixed on the kur for some long ihn, before his gaze wanders to Shock looking at him quizzically.
Darion smiles to see his father enter the longhall, he stands for a short time to greet him: "Tal, father!"
Shock reaches up and runs his fingers through his own hair, "Actually, I believe wo do conduct some trading in the South... But here is the man that could better help you with that." The red haired Jarl smiles and offers Franziskus a nod in greeting, "Tal Harbor Master... We have a visitor interested in trade, though his interest is mostly within information we can provide."
Franziskus nods to his son. His hand still on the hilt of the axe he steps a bit closer to the tables opposite the beast.
A soft whimper of distress slipped from Felina's throat as the huge Kur lifted her and laid her onto the table like a rag doll. She figured the less she moved, the less risk she would have of getting clawed. So with that thought in mind, she let her head slowly ease down to rest on the natural pillow of her mane.
As he sees his father sit at the opposite side, Darion stands up again and joins his father to sit at his side side.
Krael lifts his gaze hearing the door open, muzzle wrinkling back to take in the scent of the man that entered, a low snarl rumbling in his throat as he sees the man's hand move to the hilt of his axe, fur rippling over his massive frame as he tenses, prepared to fight and destroy if needed. His paw clenches tight around the horn as he studies the human carefully ad rumbles out, "Greetings, human, I am Krael of the 6Claws. I come for information and trade, not to damage your village." He turns his attention back to the red haired man with a nod at his mention of trade in the south, grunting, "Yes, that is when information can be gathered."
Franziskus Ninetails raises his eyebrows in surprise at Shock's words: "Trade?", then stares at the beast again. He tilts his head a bit, inspecting the creature in a mix of kuriousity ((*smile*)), caution, anxiety and hostitlity. He takes a deep breath and finally nods "Well met then... Krael of the 6claws.... I'm Franziskus, the harbourmaster of Hrimgar". His body relaxes a bit, taking his hand from the hilt of the axe, but still ready to draw it within an ihn, knowing well how fast those beasts can be in their attacks. He sits down on the cushion, glad his son changed the tables. Looking from the beast to Shock and back he asks: "What kind of... information are you looking for, Krael?"
Darion sees his father's cautious glance, his hand moving under the table to reach his sword.. guarding and ready for any attack against his father.
Krael settles his massive paw over the brand on his pet's thigh, the warmth of his palm radiating against her skin as his fingertips stroke the soft flesh gently. A feral grin stays on his gaping muzzle as the man introduces himself, the scents of anxiety and hostility coming from him in waves, used to that kind of reaction from humans. His furry shoulders shift in a shrug, settling his air-gun, axe, and shield more firmly into place as he looks across to the other table with a low grunt, "As I was telling this man here, my clan always seeks information about our enemies...the ones called the priest kings, and their servants, the initiates. Any that provide us with such are richly rewarded and will be considered useful, not seen as prey."
Franziskus feels a cold shiver running down his spine as the beast's lips draw back in the attempt to imitate a human smile, bearing the sharp fangs. He clears his throat and takes another deep breath before he answers: "You will understand after the happening in Svein Bluetooth's longhall many, many years ago, a kur is not likely to be seen in a longhall." - After this mix of explanation and apology he takes another deep breath, before he continues "However, I'm not a big friend of initiates... and doubt, that they are really acting in the name of your enemies, the priest kings... But we are in trades with some of the southern cities, so that is a delicate matter to negotiate."
{Dar at this point had to go afk}
Felina shifted quietly under the heavy gentleness of His strokes to her thigh. The branded wound there now completly healed back to tender skin. Her eyes opened slowly for a moment as she examined His face, always amazed at how calm he was in the face of any danger. She glanced timidly about the room at the faces of the men for a moment, and before doing anything that would get her into trouble, she just turned back to the Kur and let her head settled down once more.
The kur grunts low, nodding to the harbor master at his explanation, shaking his massive head and waving a paw in the air, "Those events were.....unfortunate, but actions of wilder kurii than we of the ships. I was telling this man here this is my first time in a hall without humans running and screaming, I am enjoying it....for now." A low rumble of pleasure fills his throat as he strokes his pet's smooth thigh with possessive pride, "Not all of us are ravaging beasts. As for negotitating, we do not ask for you to attack southern cities, merely listen to what is said, and if anything of interest is mentioned, inform us of it."
The harbourmaster with a quick sidelook recognizes his son fallen asleep right at the table. A short smile brushing his lips.. proud that his son even in the face of danger finds the peace and calm to just fall asleep. He can't help sliding his fingers proudly through his son's hair, before he turns his attention back to the beast.
The rumbling of the Kur's voice would not quite let the slavegirl drift off into a full petted sleep. The warmth of the cracking fire at her back added to her comfort and aided in keeping her still under the Kur's touch. Thinking on the conversation that the men had had with the Kur, and in knowing really how generous this particular Kur could be, her eyes lowered to the small pouch of jewels that hung from His belt. Her voice soft as she spoke to Him: "My Lord, perhaps some...encouragement..would be motivating for the men?"
Franziskus Ninetails nods at the kur's words and the explanation of the air-gun on the table which he haven't seen yet with the other, the savage kurii of Gor. "Hmmm.... as harbourmaster I'm often visiting other cities, also those in the south ... trades mostly... So, I hear the one or other thing... rumours... but, as I said before - I doubt, that the Initiates really know about the nature of priest kings". He bites his lips, not sure, if he haven't said too much already, as his Northern countrymen don't believe in the existence of PKs anyways... After a short hestitation he continues "So, what goods do you have to offer for information? And... in case we make a deal... how and where would we reach you?"
Shock glances down at his right boot, idly tugging on a few of the straps while he listens in to the conversation. The red headed Jarl lifts an eyebrow as the blond slave girl speaks, shifting his gaze down to the pouch resting on the kur's belt for a brief moment before he gazes into the fire once again.
Krael rumbles softly in approval to his pet, her intelligence in such matters being one of the many reasons he chose to keep her, thick fingers tightening in a gentle squeeze on her thigh before his paw slips away and reaches to the small pouch on his belt, one claw pulling it open to reach inside to withdraw a ruby the size of a human thumbnail, holding it up to let the firelight sparkle on the cut face of the gem. He looks to his pet and gestures her to rise from the table, dropping the gem into her hand with a nod towards the harbor master, "Consider this a token of my appreciation at the welcome here, and if the information you gather can be of use, more can be offered of course. If we do make arragenments, I or my pet can come here to find out what you've heard."
The harbourmaster's eyes follow the ruby that sparkle in the light of the fire... follow it's way from the big, hairy paws into the slave's small hand. For a short moment he forces his glance away from the gem over to Shock, trying to read in his facial expression any hint for his thoughts about the matter, then turns his eyes back to the slavegirl as she rises to bring the ruby over to him.
The girl took a moment to enjoy the beauty of the stone as it fell into her timely extended palm. Carefully she rose off the table and eased to her booted feet. Her mane kissed lighty about the swell of her hips as she moved cautiously to the Harbor Master. She never dared to close her palm for she knew the Kur would not take His eyes off the precious gem and she knew better than to conceal it from Him. Keeping her movements slow and natural, she approached him and extended her arm in such a way that the ruby glinted in the light of the fire.
The kur rumbles low in approval as he watches his pet move across to the other table, possessive pride shining in dark eyes as they roam the length of her thick mane and travel down her form before focusing on the gleaming gem she holds in her hand and offers to the man, watching to see his reaction to the intial token of payment.
Franziskus' glance follows the slavegirl, his guts tighten a bit at the thought, that the kurii keeping their pets to devour them sooner or later. The old Earthian saying 'You eat with your eyes first!', running through his mind and he can't help to acknowledge the good taste of the beast. As the girl reached him, he reaches his hand out, palm upward, waiting for the slave to place the ruby in it.
The kur's pet carefully turned her palm over slowly to let the valuable gem roll from her palm into the man's extended one. Keeping her eyes low, she retracted her arm and without a word she turned and moved back to the side of the Kur.
Krael grunts low seeing the exchange happen, nodding to his pet as she returns to his side, thick right arm reaching out to encircle her waist and pull her to press against his side as he looks over to the harbor master, "Kurii can be generous in our dealings with humans, if the dealings benefit us"
The harbormaster nods to the slavegirl with a warm smile as she place the gem in the palm of his hand. He turns and ... holding the ruby between index and thumb... holds it against the fire, adoring for some ihn the red sparkles as he inspects it with a skillful eye. Finally he nods and places the gem carefully before him on the table "This is a very generous offer indeed! I will talk with the High Jarl about it. That's all I can promise for now, Krael"
He adds with a smile "You will understand that we here in the North had troubles with your savage brethren for many years. So it's not easy to trust"
{Unfortunately I soon had go to dinner at this point, so finish it quickly}
The doors went open and Franzi's slave River entered the longhall.
Krael nods to the man across the table with a grunt of agreement, understanding that humans have the need to confer with each other before making decisions, "Yes, speak with you leader as you must, I or my pet will come for word on your decision"
Franziskus Ninetails's eyes flicker for a moment to the door as his slave enters the longhall. Knowing his boy's history.. being abducted from earth by kurii.. he frowns and sends hims with a growled command back to his chores "Hush, mine! You have work to do!", he shoos him away
"Yes, my master", answers the boy and hurries back out, his eyes drifting once again to the huge beast
Franziskus stands up and grabs the ruby on the table. "As I said.. I will talk to the High Jarl about it. You might send a mesenger within the next days. For now, please excuse me... work is waiting for me at the docks". He stretches with a sigh.
The kur rises from the bench and attaches the leash to his pet's collar, nodding to the man, "Farewell, Franzikus, we will speak again soon!"
Shock glances up when everyone begins to take their departure, "Safe paths to you all."
Krael turns a feral grin to the red haired man, "Farewell, Shock, I will return in a few days to see what information you have"
Franziskus nods "Safe paths, Krael.", he winks to Shock and with a last look at his sleeping son turns to the doors to hurry to the docks in hope his boy prepared a good dinner for him.......
