What's new, Pussycat?

Again I haven't written much the last weeks. Been working RL most of the holiday season and spent the rest of the rare time in SL; so no time to write here. I think I should get used to write at least one article per day, so I not forget, what happened...

The new/first slave of my Gor-son was a big disappointment. We all thought he was nice and we all welcomed him to the family, but he turned out as a weirdo. Got a big tantrum, shoting down River with no reason, interrupting a RP. - I thought it was just a tantrum for some reason... happens to the best.... and waited for him to calm down. But he started an odd, ridiculous vendetta with spellfire and other griefer-HUDs, bothering not only us but friends too. *shrugs* It seems, SL offers a platform for too many weirdos...

Roleplay these days been not much. For one reason we are in the wrong time-zone. Another reason is the season. Too many people are away for the holidays. And sometimes I have the feeling, that Gor-RP is about to die. Well, we're a bit "special" anyways, as we prefer "realistic" RP instead of the usual pew-pew, raid, burn down houses (ridiculoust thing ever to do, unless you do it really well, like those savages who - not used to buildings - tried to make a campfire in a taverne-room...), rape etc.
We had some big hope in the Nutri Life System (NLS), but it figures out to be a RP-killer instead of a RP-enhancement. People spending the whole day  gathering products. Slavegirls kneeling in their dancing silks in gathering places and digging for salt and metal and gold... Or shooting down zillions of Tabuk (one-horned deer), verr (sheep), bosk (cows) and tarsk (pigs) to offer horn, wool and leather for dumping prices. I wonder, what's the point of it? It not only takes their time which they could spend more useful by doing RP, it's also not a bit realistic and it kills everybody else's RP with the NLS-goods too, as you don't have a chance to be a serious merchant. And I don't talk of making lots of NLS-coins. I have those plenty; don't need them. I would even give someone OOC some silver-tarsk so that he'd be able to buy goods from me, if he RPs it well! But what's the point, when you for example RP traveling to the desert in a caravane, haggling with merchants there for salt, and then you return with loads of salt... and you can right delete it, because you will never sell it. And why can't you sell it? Cause potential customers will either gather and grind for hours their own salt in gathering places (it should be only available in the desert BTB) or - even worse - buy it to 100s for some pennies from people, who have nothing else to do than camp on the spawners all day long.
Anyways... it's a bit frustrating as I really had hope in the NLS as RP-enchancement. If I could afford it, I would rent a SIM again and build a city, where the use of the NLS is controlled and taken as what it should be: An Enhancement, not a RP-killer.

However... today we made another attempt. We RPed to load a ship full of goods for the north. Including our new snow-sleen (fun!) plus his sled. The ship-loading was fun as we met a new healer of Tabor at the docks, who's a good RPer and who bought some of the medical supplies which we bought from the producers in Tabor Mountain.
When the ship was loaded, we travelled far north to sell stuff, which we had bought before from producers around Tabor and on our trading travels. The SIM we went to was crowded, so we thought we had some fun RP putting up a marketstand, offering goods, haggling and advertizing.... and been ignored.
People were gathering in the taverne, they didn't even bother to check the gates as we knocked loudly and blew the horn. Some of their warriors passing us without a word, not even wondering about the strangers in their city... We packed our crates and returned to the ship.
Fortunately on our way to the docks we met a blacksmith from another city, so finally we had some fun RP haggling with him and selling him some iron and candy canes. Too bad he didn't want the long-johns our seamstress in Tabor is knitting and which my boys modelled for him. :-) So after all it wasn't that bad thanks to this guy. And maybe we have more luck when next time we will visit his homestone...

My son's first slave

Yes, I have a son on Gor, called Dar. Long story... He was away for a long time, but now he is back. And he became a member of the Tabor Guard.

This week he found a lost boy and took him for a trial period of three days. But he kept him, so today was the official collaring of Jasper. Another slave in our growing household.

Here are some pics. (I guess, one of my other boys will add the RP of the collaring):

me, myself and I

After I finally finished the menstuff-Hunt last week, I wanted to take part at the competition. But for some reason it uploads and loads and loads and loads... well, it stucks in the upload and nothing happens. Oh well! No competition then. But here's the pic(s) I took for it. Sorry for the bad resolution, but they only allowed 512 x 512 pixels, which is not much:

Disney Gor

Now, this was too funny, as we were in the middle of a trading- and haggling-RP and this FAIRY came along, in silken fluffy clothes with wings... dancing barefoot through the high snow and claimed to be a panther. That gives "Disney Gor" a very new perspective!

busy week

So, what happened this week? So much, that I can't even remember all. The main event was, that my lil devil Mick returned to the chain. Four boys now... I guess I need a Master-convalescence-holiday soon! :-)

Here's a pic of the collaring and my lovely boys. More pics and the whole ceremony you can read in my lil sunshine's blog.
I even made a bosk-roast all by myself. Masterly for my boys. It was well done. I mean... really.. very well done. My boys are sooooo fond of my cooking skills, but they were too modest and overwhelmed by the honor to eat more than a tiny piece of the delicious, very crunchy roast. (And if anyone tells you, my cooking skills would credit any Tuchuk torturer, he's lying!)

Last sundway we were dancing again at the OOC dance in Tabor:

This time we themed it White latex and we looked really hot and sexy.

Hmmm, can't remember much more about this week. Some pointless discussions. Oh, a RP where we spread candies all over the Tabor cluster, but unfortunately the slaves seem to be full of candies already, so nobody really searched for the lost candies. Did some trading with Iceberg for wool. Oh, and my son Darion Ninetails is now a member of the scarlets. Yay!

So, that's it as far as I remember...

It's the season

The last weeks we were a bit busy preparing for christmas. Our Earth-Parcel is beach and as we didn't want to change this, we made a nice skybox. Pics will follow soon.

So, here's just a pic of River and me decorating the christmas-tree while Mick plays the bagpipe:

Chance - first boy of Tabor - has put out the traditional skating rink in Tabor and asked us to decorate Tabor Isle a bit. I wished I had more time... I'm a slooooooow builder, checking and rechecking again and again... but however, I think it's nice. And fun to complain IC (in character) about the "lazy slaves, who don't keep the ways free of snow", while I OOC (out of character) shoveled the snow there all by myself. :-)

This is one of those pictures... hmmm... I think, everybody, who likes to take pictures in SL knows the situation: I am normally in low graphics because of lag... but then you have this moment, where you think "Wow! That would be an amazing snapshot!", but as you are in low graphics, you want to do it even better... raising draw distance, atmospheric shader, playing with different windlights etc etc etc - and at the end, the result is just disappointing, as the magic moment is gone. - This is one of those disappointing pictures, but I don't have an other.

latex dancing

As usual we been dancing sunday evening at the Tabor OOC dance. We decided to dress in latex and continued dancing even as the official dance was over. Totally forgot time. My boy River already posted some pics. Here's two more....

.... and two more effects I done with Photofunia, which is pretty simple to do:

hmmmm.....

Not much to tell these days. Still on the hunt. And building our winter-hut, which will look fine, I think. So.. here's just a pic from me dancing at a beach-party at the Romanum-SIMs:

Oh! Uhm... forgot this: Met my dragon this week!

Gee! How could I forget to mention that!?!

As I had mentioned: We are on the menstuff hunt. We just got 1/3 of all the gifts, so #1 - #50 are stored in my inventory, waiting to get opened. But apart from the hunt-gifts we also found some nice extra gifts. One at a shop called GIZZA Creations. When you join the group at the entrance, you can grap a lot of really nice gifts.

I took the time to take some pictures of the male gifts (there are gifts for women too...). I know... modelling for clothes shouldn't be with such distracting background, but I just had some fun in Ange's D.I.Y. Photostudio:

This is the "Blue Outfit" (.. I think. Though it's not much blue.)

The September gift

The June Gift

One of my Favorites: Blue Leather Outfit

The October Gift
(Don't like this so much;
that explains my sad look
although I'm sitting on Santa's lap)

The Valentine's Gift
(Love this one. Looks so cool
and I extra changed my hairstyle for it back to how it was a year ago)

The Sweater Outfits

The May Gift

The Male Leather Jacket
(and yes, I accidently chosen the same pose as with another outfit)

The First Year Gift
(It had a strange tie with it which I took off.
Without it, it looks quite gentleman-like. Like it!)

The November Gift

P.S.: 12 hours after this post, Gizza decided to charge 250 L$ for joining the group. That's a bit disappointing IMO, on the other side understandable, as many people just join the group to grap the gifts and then leave it again. - However, once joined, you will receive a monthly gift. Decide yourself, if you think it's worth the 250 L$.

My boys - the builders

My lil sunshine River has his first build on marketplace. It's a cute Flying House, the perfect skybox. (Of course it's not really drivable... that would be a mass.) It's so lovely and I'm so proud of my building boys!

My lil moonbeam Endy will soon get his first build on Marketplace too, I hope. He's a promising talent and soon will get ahead of his Master.

the hunts

We been on the builder's hunt last week, and I have to say... it was a bit disappointing. The worst organized hunt I've ever been to. Half of the shops on the list had no gift at all. And as they didn't have one, you didn't get the LM to the next one. etc. Bad organisation! And the gifts? I sorted them yesterday and half of it got directly into the trashcan. I don't know.... sometimes it seems to me, that shopowners put in those hunts their worst products with the motto "Doesn't hurt, when I give off THIS for free".. .which IMO is totally wrong. Who will ever return to your shop to BUY something, when he thinks you are building only crap?
The good thing at this hunt was: I always doubt my own building-skills and always try to get better... but I've seen a lot of shops and I've seen what people try to sell there and I realized: Most of that stuff I can do better.. and a lot of stuff others try to sell, I'm creating en passant, often giving it away for free or as bonus.
At the moment we are on the menstuff hunt. And that one is fun and the shops much better! Totally worth it.. I hope. I haven't unwrapped the gifts yet, as we are just at #25 of 150. As soon as we finished it, I'll report about it.

New old boy

Again a whole week passed without a word written in here. The biggest news of this week is, that my former slave Brian found his way back into second life and to me. As we hadn't much time on friday, the collaring had to go quickly, so I had to improvise.... and no time to take pictures. I borrowed (and altered a bit) this one from my lil sunshine's blog. He also posted the whole ceremony.

Welcome back to the chain, my lil angel!

surprising RP

Last thursday we just wanted to do some errands on the markets, but then had some hours fun with RP. Often it's the spontanous, unexpected RP, that's the most fun. And I enjoy those much more then fight, capture, torture and trading captives.
First we met the new baker and her girl, bought some honey from her. Then we were in the town to set up a marketstall for black wine and cacao, but then there was that tarn and..... Oh well! You can read it all in my boy River's blog.

And on this occasion also found the baker's girl's blog... and now even the blog of Lori, the baker, herself. Welcome to the blogosphere!

in Romanum

On Saturday I got a call from a customer, who had bought the hacienda from me. Well, it seemed to have been partly a misunderstanding. Though it is explained in the notecard, here again a note about rezzers (not only mine! This is a SL-glitch according to EVERY rezzer): When you lower a rezzer so much, that the building parts are underground, then they might stick in there! The easy solution for this is: After moving the rezzer to the right position, derez and then rezz the building again. Now it should be all in the right position.
Anyways.. after solving this he showed me where he put the Hacienda down. It's on one of the Romanum SIMs. He changed the textures on the outer columns and added lions and a gate from Grey Kurka.... and it looks really nice there and fits in the SIM very well, I think!

(For the pic: Couldn't show more of the hacienda on this pic, as we were standing on the roof on the other side *g*)

Unbelievable! 1 year goes by so fast and on the other side in SL can happen so much in 12 months... But with all what was happening, one person was always by my side: My boy River!

One year ago, on 4th of November 2010 I collared him. Each single day he showed me his love and devotion. And so many times he made me proud. (And of course horny too *g*)

Happy anniversary, my lil sunshine!
Love you very much!

Happy Rezzday, Finn

On sunday evening we always go to the Tabor OOC dance. Not so this sunday, because it was Finn Millar's 2 rezzday party! Here are some pics:

Tea-Party

On Saturday I been to Tabor Highlands OOC dance. Theme was "Hat", so I dusted an old costume of which I have so many... and in all modesty, I have to say, it was the best costume there at all! But you know how it is with those contests... only depends on how many people you know to vote for you. I think one of the actually winners didn't even WEAR a hat (at least not on a bodypart where I could see it).

Anyways, here's a picture:

Suit: Blackopal Designs 0 L$ (!) here and here

posing

My lil sunshine River mentioned the pose some days ago, so my lil moonbeam Endy was busy trying to recreate the pose. It became pretty good and I like the pictures we did last night. Looking forward to my lil sunshine to post the pictures he'd taken:

Zombies

Last night I met with Rammy to show him the house (so far). We talked a bit about "old times" (oh my! almost 4 years SL!) and then searched for the place where we have been a lot "when we were young" *grins*: Rosey Cheeks.

We found a halloween skybox which was really scarey. Both became victims of the Texas Chainsaw Mascara Massacre and got attacked by zombies....

A home for Rammy

I wanted to wait with this until it is finished, but I'd like to show it now, as I'm talking about building-projects....

Two weeks ago I visited Rammy. He's the one on my friendslist who's there right from the beginning (I avoid to say "my oldest friend", cause he's complaining then "I'm not THAT old!!!") The first weeks/months of our SLife we were almost inseperapable. Now he isn't often online anymore and we only meet maybe once a month or less, but he's still a good friend.

Anywho... he showed me a pic of a house he would love to live in:

Which reminded me, that I always wanted to build a countryhouse. And as my lil moonbeam Endy gifted me a sculptmaking-tool which a friend recommended, I thought it is time! Sooooooo.... I started to make my own sculpts and use the countryhouse as training-object.

Here you see me working on it:

Still a lot of work to do, still a lot of sculpts to sculpt, but I think it's getting quite nice. For now it's only a raw draft (okay, I know so-called builders who would try to sell what I call 'raw draft' for about 2000 L$ on marketplace....), but I think Rammy will like it. (And hope the one or customer too, when I finished it)

Here's a close-up pic of me working on the roof:

A Short Dream

Well, it started last saturday right before RL-work, when I get an offer from someone I met the one or other time, but never had closer contact to.... It was really a surprise: The offer that he'd buy a (Gorean) SIM and I'd have free hand in building and managing and administrating it. Though it did sound too good to be true - I hestitated. Cause most people in Tabor welcomed us warmly and I didn't plan to leave so soon again. And... well... even if I'd had the chance to restore my work I had done in a certain city, altering it to someone even better and greater... it would have been a lot of work.
So I needed some time to think about it. There was harvest festival in Tabor too (oh, and sooooo proud of my lil sunshine, who made first place in the Gorean Trivia!!!) and RL-work..... and I couldn't think really straight. But finally, after talking to some people in Tabor and after the agreement to add this new SIM to the cluster, I finally agreed on monday!
My boys and me were so excited! Already went shopping, searching for new textures and inspiration and other stuff....
One of the most impressive shops is Grey Kurka's! I mentioned it some posts before.

His texturing is awesome, and how he plays with prims... altering.. changing... cutting them.... it's truly inspired! At the same time I'd see his work as challenge to me, and I would have been happy for the chance to build something at least half as spectacular as his builds.

However, on tuesday, we got the notice, that due to some RL-issues our "sponsor" had to step back. :-(

Well, it shouldn't have been. It was a nice fantasy... cut as surprising as it was offered. But always looking at the bright side: Gives me more time to spend with my boys, for RP and for building stuff for my shop.

Busy building

Didn't mention for a while my new updates on the store. I got some packs with paintings, also available as single paintings. As I sell them for 10 L$ each, with is the price for uploading them, it's not really a profitable business thingens; it just made me angry, that some people try to sell uploaded pictures, often not even adjusted to the original or in low resolution or with ugly frames (most of the times all this together) for 100 L$ or what....

  (c) Finn Millar for Vice Poses

Finn Millar made a great picture for the promotion of a poseball-shop ("Vice Poses"). Showing my basement. I have to say: It really looks very atmospheric! Of Course Finn and Spencer are great artists.

Okay... now, let me see... what did I put up to MP in the last weeks?

There was the blacksmith house I'd built for Corcyrus:

.....Another palm in a pot....

... my old store ....

... and a new version of the torvie house! Smaller than "The Merchant's House" and "The Poor Merchant's House", that's why I called it "The Merchant's Little Brother" :-) However, I abandoned alpha-windows and used sculpted windows this time, cause I'm annoyed by that alpha layer bug; so even as it is smaller, it uses some more prims.

And still lots of projects upcoming!
